Fleet Maintenance Summary The tractor/trailer mechanic is responsible for the inspection, service, and repair of the various types of ATS tractors and trailers by using company and industry standard methods and criteria to make sure the tractor or trailer is safe to be on the road. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform inspections on company tractors using Company, DOT, and OSHA guidelines to ensure that the tractors are operating safely. Complete DOT inspections on outgoing trucks to verify that all necessary repairs have been made. Performs repairs following company procedures within standard job times to get the drivers back on the road as soon as possible. Performs all necessary/scheduled preventative maintenance services. (i.e., alignment, oil and grease, tune-up, air filters, cooling system, nitrate, rods and mains, water filters) Diagnose and repairs electronic control engines. Train and be a resource to others on communication devices. Document common install procedures and troubleshooting techniques to help train other technicians. Act as subject matter expert and resource to other technicians, drivers, and managers. Work with the safety department to make sure all communications units are hooked up properly and provide the data necessary for electronic logging. Perform a series of diagnostic checks to confirm units are installed properly and feeding the data necessary to support e-log. Work safely and wear all required PPE. Sales, Customer Service and Marketing The Regional Sales and Service Manager is responsible for generating new sales within the assigned region and the management of the Regional Account Representatives. Responsible for staffing and directing the assigned Regional Accounts Representatives, establishing strategies and implementing plans to expand current customer base and penetrate new regional opportunities. Education and Experience A minimum of a two year business degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience preferred. Two to four years of experience with leading a team of individuals in a customer-service and /or sales based environment. Strong understanding of the commercial transportation and asset productivity industries with strong working knowledge of sales operations, business planning, or sales support management role. Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting sales, profit & loss statements and accounting required. Strong interpersonal skills; able to establish trust and rapport with all levels of staff. Able to relate effectively to diverse cultures, including senior leadership. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills (written, listening and verbal). Demonstrated ability to influence and work in cross-functional team environment. Ability to effectively manage remote employees. Ability to negotiate skillfully in challenging situations with both internal and external customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage the day to day operations of the Regional Account Representatives (RAR).Ensure adequate freight is available on an as-needed basis for ATS assets. Grow number of active shippers within assigned region and continue focus on account/revenue/load count growth. Partner with Human Resources in the recruiting, interviewing, selection, on-boarding, and training of new employees. Provide effective employee performance management utilizing SMART goals, timely and constructive feedback, coaching for improvement, and progressive discipline. Partner with the Leadership to own and manage the ATS Customer Experience Map. Partner with Leadership to effectively manage annual operating budget, cost center, AP and AR. Manage effective prospecting and identification of potential new customers. Respond to customers’ requests for service and resolves customer issues. Hold RAR’s accountable for accurate load information as it relates to driver satisfaction. Hold RAR’s accountable to contacting existing or inactive customers to sell ATS services through inside sales efforts. Work with ATS Logistics on a continual basis and ensure quality and quantity of freight is being covered at a high service level. Constantly attempt to increase the efficiency of freight hauled by planner interaction. Implement a process to reduce workflow queues within RAR group. Work collaboratively with Operations team to effectively manage truck productivity related to planning, driver home time needs and pre-assignment of trucks before they are empty. Act as a mediator and point of escalation between the customer and RAR when necessary, to ensure professional, courteous service is being given at all times. Work hand in hand with Sales, Operations and the National/Corporate Accounts team to ensure customer fits current strategic model. Integrate a system to allow RAR’s time for prospecting. Encourage RAR’s to continually attempt to strengthen and enhance the customer base through prospecting and courtesy calls. When needed, assist RAR in contacting existing or inactive customers to sell ATS service to them. Occasionally make outside sales calls as needed to effectively manage customer base.
